Finder's Keepers Medium: Acrylic Paint All S.O. Original works begin with a sketch. The painting is given an base coat of underlying colours. The base coat of the cement mortar is added. The bricks are added one by one in three colours. The kitchen wall, table and chairs are blocked in. The fridge, wall painting and chandelier are added. Shadow is added in the kitchen to give depth. The window frame and sill are added. The pie is painted in. Here you can see a close up of the pie. A vine clinging to the wall is painted in. Each leaf is painted in, shadowed for depth, and given veins. The first leaves are added. More leaves are added. All the leaves are finished. Each fairy is sketched first.   The sketches are cut out and moved around for best positioning.  Here you can see the legs of the upside down fairy sticking out the top of the frame. Originally the fairies were going to be glow in the dark green, but thanks to digital photo editing revealing this as less picturesque, they were made yellow instead. The fairies were blocked in. Final details were added to the fairies and they were painted with a soft glow. Back To Top
